If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway then Centre Parcs is the place for you. With beautiful scenery and endless activities to do, it is the perfect place for a family holiday, a couples retreat or even a fun break with friends.
This was my first visit to Centre Parcs and I went with my boyfriend and his family to the one located in Elvedon Forest in Suffolk. I’m so grateful that the UK is still having beautiful weather too as it made our whole time there even better.
The lodges are so nice and clean and surprisingly spacious too. There were six of us staying in this lodge and it had a lovely lounge area, kitchen and dining space as well as two bathrooms. I quite like that it’s self catering as you get to make the place feel like your own whilst staying there. The beds were comfy and most importantly there was free WiFi pretty much everywhere you go.
With so much wildlife to see too, it gives your time away something that most holidays don’t. Centre Parcs is also a dog friendly place so even your pooches can join in on all the fun, they even have an exercise area specifically for them!
From adventure golf, to cable skiiing, to zip lining, there is just so much to do. We did Badminton which was a lot of fun and also did some table tennis one evening when it was quite empty as they leave all the nets up for people to play on.
The subtropical swimming paradise is such a fun place too with slides and rapids and even a cold plunge pool if you’re feeling a bit daring – although in this hot weather it was probably a good idea to go jump in there! This part especially I think is so great for kids, especially if they are not old enough to do some of the other activities, they could still have hours of fun here!
There is also a good choice of restaurants to go to if you fancy eating out for lunch or dinner one evening. I think it’s so handy that they have a supermarket too if you need to buy any essentials or things you may have forgotten. The sports cafe is also huge and is another nice place to relax and unwind, especially if you’re the kind of person who likes their day packed with activities to do. On our first day we had some time to kill before we could actually check into our lodge so we went to Starbucks and got a Frappuccino (a double chocolatey chip Frappuccino just had to be done!) and sat by the lake which was just so nice and chilled.
Although Centre Parcs is a more expensive place to go, it is a lot of fun and for someone like me who isn’t really used to doing many activities I really enjoyed this change. Although there is so much going on here, the overall atmosphere is still so laid back. Simple things like an evening walk back to our lodge where it was so peaceful was so nice, something that I’m sure a lot of us take for granted!
A visit to centre parcs may be a little expensive side but I do think you get what you pay for, with spotless accommodation and helpful staff to ensure you have a great stay, it makes your time more memorable too. I would definetely love to return in the future!!
